Snuggling With Mom

Momma says you should read the book before you see the movie.

Dan Brown is boring; tell me something funny...

Phew! I do have stinky feet!

Horsin' Around This Weekend

When the cats are away, the toddler will play...

Just messin' around in the kitties' castle.

Meow!

Scars are cool!

It was a stressful day in the Schmitt Haus. Adelina had an accident at the day-care: "Addie was coming down the front steps to go to the playground. On the last step she tripped and fell into the step." This resulted in a skinned forehead, a skinned nose and a fat lip.
My poor baby!
The only known cure for a skinned cranium is comfort food so we made tomato soup with grilled cheese. Adelina is an avid dipper (and frequent double-dipper).
However, the minute she spotted Mommy eating with a spoon, she had to try this out for herself...

My Little Dictator

A funny anecdote from Adelina's teacher...She may look like her father, but Adelina has plenty of her mother in her as well. After arriving at the daycare this morning, she was joined by 6 male classmates ranging in age from 15 months to 2.5 years. She crawled on top of a platform in their playroom and started shouting in a commanding voice and pointing her arms in various directions. Both of her teachers and all of the boys stopped to 'respect her authority' after which she dismissed them with a head nod and went on her merry little way. As Kelis would say, "I'm bossy..." :)

Some More Words

This video isn't going to win cinematography awards, but if you listen closely you can hear a few of Adelina's new phrases!

Weekend

It was an action-packed weekend in the Schmitt Haus. Adelina had the pleasure of spending Friday with Papa (and Mama had the pleasure of an evening out with friends!). Saturday the whole family travelled to South Milwaukee to visit Grandma and Grandpa Kondziella. We made a delicious steak dinner and enjoyed a bonfire. As usual, Adelina was spoiled rotten. She received numerous outfits, several swimsuits (including a scandalous bikini that Papa might not let her wear), a swimming pool, floaties, and beach toys! Now we just need the temperature to cooperate! Sunday, we went to the Brewers vs. Cardinals game and - miracle of miracles - the Crew won the game 5-3!

Easy Rider

It's that glorious time of year when you have to take the hog out of the garage, dust off the cobwebs, change the oil, etc. so you can get outside and just ride!

Sweet Walking Skills

Check out Adelina's sweet walking skills.

She's graceful even with her pants pulled half-way up her back!

My Day

Here's a glimpse into Adelina's day:

6:30 a.m. - Rise and shine
6:45 a.m. - First breakfast (orange yogurt)
7:30 a.m. - Arrive at day-care
8:30 a.m. - Second breakfast (2nds on coffee cake, 2nds on applesauce, most milk)
10:00 a.m. - Outside playtime! Yipee!
11:30 a.m. - Lunch (some enchilada, 2nds on bananas, 3rds (!) on corn, most milk)
12:10 p.m. to 1:35 p.m. - Nap time in sleeping bag (snuggled with Kaden)
2:30 p.m. - Snack (2nds on rice crispies, all milk)
3:00 p.m. - Outside playtime
4:45 p.m. - Mommy!

We arrived home at 5:15 p.m. and planted our seedlings. Then we went inside and scrubbed dirt from our fingers, ears, face, toes, etc. We ate scrambled eggs and peaches for dinner. Then we read every single book in the bedroom and went to bed at 7:00 p.m.

Can't wait to do it all over again...Goodnight!

Poppa's Birthday!

Happy 27th birthday Joel!
Since you're working in the Great North, Adelina said she'd see you in her dreams!

Happy May Day

Happy May 1st! Sorry for the lack of blogging lately. Adelina caught a cold that spread to her eyes (ick) and then she was so kind to share it with both of her parents. As you can see from the videos, she's growing up fast: learning new words and walking like a fool. Hope you're having a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by!
