Macy Jo's Baptism

Sunday was Macy Jo Schmitt's baptism.

Her godparents were Joel and Jenna.

I want to be a Macho Man!

We had chicken legs for dinner (picture, left). Just kidding, it's Mexican Monday! The quesadillas weren't very impressive last week so we tried Macho Nachos this time. Unsurprisingly, she ate black beans, black olives, avocado, and cheese and left the rest for Mom.

Adios to March

Gettin' ready for swimsuit season...

Adelina had a fun-filled weekend of doing the Frankenstein/penguin/robot walk. We have yet to capture this on tape, but we continue to try.

Who Needs Cascade Mountain?

An oldie, but a goodie:
Christmas Tree hunting with Aunt Joanna in November.

And then later, in January...

A little clip that cracks me up every time I see it.

Polka Dot Thursday

It's polka dot Thursday which means we're wearing polka dots to celebrate Friday Eve!!!! And using our spirit fingers... Adelina woke up with a smile on her face and snot in her nose! Her poor little eye is puffy, which makes her look like she's been in a fist fight. I'd bet money on her.

We demonstrated our mastery of the spoon this morning by eating an entire container of yogurt and a banana using our left hand and the small end of the spoon (it's much easier to grip the LARGE end, don't you know).

Crystal, Adelina's day-care teacher, reported at lunch that she pointed to her nose and clearly said, "Nose." Just another example of her genius at work.

Uncle Jeff and Carla sent us a wonderful book about a Hawaiian princess who goes on a treasure hunt. It has wonderful colors, glitter and, our favorite, kitties! Thank you!

Below is a video from February. Beware - it's naked time. If you listen very closely you'll also hear Adelina say "OKAY!"

Mexican Monday

Each week in the Schmitt Haus we dine on cuisine inspired by our Southern neighbors. We affectionately call it Mexican Monday. This week we ate veggie quesadillas, black bean salsa, sour cream, avocado, and refried beans.
Tonight also marked Adelina's first foray into the wide world of cutlery; I shall dote by saying she was an overachiever, eating from both ends of the spoon.

First Steps

Tuesday, March 25, 2008 was a big day in the Schmitt Haus. The little Schmitt Tot took her much-awaited first steps!!! As you can see, we tried to tell Uncle Snoop the news over the xbox, but we didn't have any luck.

I tried to capture her solo steps on film, but did not succeed. Instead, we had fun pushing our toy and attacking the cats.

We also enjoyed dinner at the 1855 Saloon in Cottage Grove with Barb Swenson. Adelina and I shared the wood fired pizza and sweet potato fries. Every waitress in the restaurant had to visit our table because Adelina was waving and blowing kisses like a mad-woman.

Papa we miss you very much and hope you're having fun in the Great North Woods. Adelina asks for you every day. We're looking forward to seeing you on Friday!
